Participant funding notice

The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) will conduct a hearing based on written submissions in July 2026. The hearing is to consider an application from Bruce Power to amend the licensing basis of the power reactor operating licence for the Bruce A and B nuclear generating stations to operate pressure tubes beyond the current limit of 300 000 effective full-power hours (EFPH), up to a maximum of 310 000 EFPH. The Bruce A and B nuclear generating stations are in the Municipality of Kincardine on the eastern shore of Lake Huron, on the traditional and treaty territory of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation, and the traditional harvesting territories of the Métis Nation of Ontario Region 7 and the Historic Saugeen Métis peoples.

The CNSC is offering participant funding to assist Indigenous Nations and communities, members of the public and interested parties in:

  • reviewing documentation, including CNSC staff’s and Bruce Power’s Commission member documents

Up to $50,000 in participant funding will be disbursed among all successful applicants.
