Participant funding notice
The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) will conduct a hearing based on written submissions in July 2026. The hearing is to consider an application from Bruce Power to authorize additional steps for production of lutetium-177 at the Bruce A and B nuclear generating stations. Bruce Power is requesting authorization for onsite removal of quartz ampoules from the aluminum carrier and for the packaging of those targets for offsite transport.
The Bruce A and B nuclear generating stations are located in the Municipality of Kincardine on the eastern shore of Lake Huron, on the traditional and treaty territory of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation, and the traditional harvesting territories of the Métis Nation of Ontario Region 7 and the Historic Saugeen Métis peoples.
The CNSC offered participant funding to assist Indigenous Nations and communities, members of the public and interested parties in reviewing Bruce Power’s application and associated documents, and in participating in the Commission hearing process.
