Participant funding notice
The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) is offering participant funding to assist Indigenous Nations and communities, members of the public and interested parties in reviewing and submitting comments in writing to the Commission on CNSC staff’s 5 regulatory oversight reports (RORs) for the 2024 calendar year. Persons seeking to intervene are invited to submit 1 written intervention, which may address any or all of the RORs for 2024. In addition, in the spirit of reconciliation and in recognition of the Indigenous oral tradition of sharing knowledge, the CNSC is offering Indigenous intervenors the opportunity to make oral presentations. The facilities and activities covered by the 2024 RORs are located in the traditional and treaty territories of many Indigenous Nations and communities, as described in each report.
During the week of March 23, 2026, the CNSC will hold a public meeting to present the following 5 RORs to the Commission:
- Regulatory Oversight Report for Canadian Nuclear Power Generating Sites: 2024
- Regulatory Oversight Report for Uranium and Nuclear Substance Processing Facilities in Canada: 2024
- Regulatory Oversight Report for Uranium Mines and Mills in Canada: 2024
- Regulatory Oversight Report on the Use of Nuclear Substances in Canada: 2024
- Regulatory Oversight Report for Canadian Nuclear Laboratories Sites: 2024
In these RORs, CNSC staff provide their assessment of the safety performance of licensees in their respective sectors during the 2024 calendar year.
