Abstract
This paper discusses a stylized approach to evaluation of incremental change in the CANDU ROP/NOP trip functional failure probability under aging conditions and its use for evaluation of incremental change in risk for a postulated slow LOR event and independent risk-informed verification of adequacy of ROP/NOP trip setpoint value under aging conditions. The proposed stylized method is not a substitute for the design ROP/NOP methodology for calculation of ROP/NOP required trip setpoint.
