The CNSC hosts guest speakers on topics of interest to CNSC staff. These sessions take place on a regular basis throughout the year. The CNSC Speaker Series is open to all CNSC staff and members of the public.

Members of the public are welcome to attend and are encouraged to RSVP 24 hours in advance.

The CNSC Speaker Series is pleased to welcome Adriènne Kelbie, Chief Executive of the UK Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR), who will give a presentation outlining ONR’s priorities under her leadership and public engagement including non-governmental organizations forums.

Adriènne Kelbie was appointed as Chief Executive of the UK Office for Nuclear Regulation on January 18, 2016. Ms. Kelbie has spent the last nineteen years in senior leadership roles in the public sector, fifteen at Board level.

She is known as a leader who is greatly interested in developing her people and learning from them. She believes that the best teams are diverse teams, and her commitment is broadened beyond ONR, as Patron of Women in Nuclear UK. In recognition of her promotion of nuclear safety, security and diversity, she was awarded the rare distinction of Honorary Fellow of the Nuclear Institute in 2017.

Ms. Kelbie is also a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development, a Companion Member of the Chartered Management Institute, and a graduate of Oxford University’s Major Programme Leadership Academy, reflecting her interest in developing leadership by example.
