Webinar: Class II Nuclear Facilities and Prescribed Equipment Regulations – Regulatory review
Join us on January 15, 2024, for a webinar on the regulatory review of the Class II Nuclear Facilities and Prescribed Equipment Regulations.
The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) has identified considerations for a potential revision of the regulations. If revised, the new version would supersede the existing regulations, dated 2000 (last substantially amended in May 2010).
The purpose of this webinar is to:
- familiarize participants with the regulationsand with the regulatory development and review process
- solicit further feedback from the Canadian public, Indigenous Nations and communities, and other stakeholders on the considerations identified in discussion paper DIS-22-01, published in August 2022
- answer questions about the regulatory review project
All feedback received will inform the CNSC’s approach in moving forward with these regulatory considerations for potential amendments. Once all preliminary consultations are complete, the CNSC will finalize its analysis. Stakeholders will have further opportunity to comment on a more formal proposal for the changes being considered during the Canada Gazette,Part I, pre-publication process
