Whiteshell Reactor # 1 (WR-1) Project Webinar

Join us April 7th, 2021 for a webinar on the proposed licence amendment by Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) to decommission Whiteshell Reactor #1 (WR-1).

The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) will consider a proposed licence amendment by CNL to decommission WR-1 through an in-situ (leaving in place) approach. This session is intended to provide a high-level overview of the project. We encourage everyone who is interested to attend.

The purpose of this webinar is to discuss:

• How the CNSC regulates nuclear facilities
• The ongoing environmental assessment (EA) process for this proposed project
• The ongoing licensing review for this proposed project
• Project specific updates
• Next steps going forward

This webinar will be hosted in English. Please note a copy of the presentation will be sent to registrants a day prior to the session. We will also have a number of polling questions during the session; participants joining us via phone will have limited ability to participate.
