Webinar: Gentilly-2 Licence Renewal Application

Join us on February 3, 2026, for a webinar on Hydro-Québec’s Gentilly-2 licence renewal application.

In March 2025, Hydro-Québec submitted an application seeking a 20-year renewal of its power reactor decommissioning licence for its Gentilly-2 facilities, located in Bécancour, Québec. Hydro-Québec is currently authorized to conduct decommissioning activities at the Gentilly-2 facilities, which include a shut-down nuclear power reactor and an associated radioactive waste management facility.

During the proposed licence period, Hydro-Québec will continue to maintain the reactor building and operate the existing waste management facility. Additionally, Hydro-Québec will complete the demolition of non-nuclear or slightly contaminated buildings and structures that are no longer in use.

The purpose of this webinar is to:

• discuss Hydro-Québec’s licence application
• discuss the CNSC’s licensing process
• answer questions from members of the public
