Order issued to Dart Canada Inc.

The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) issued an order on January 13, 2026, to Dart Canada Inc., located at 2121 Markham Road, Scarborough, ON. Dart Canada Inc. who previously held a CNSC licence for the possession, transfer, import, export, use and storage of radiation devices; that licence expired on May 31, 2025.

The order was issued to ensure the health and safety of Dart Canada Inc. workers and the public. Without a valid licence with a CNSC accepted radiation safety program, management control over radiological work practices could not be guaranteed.

An unannounced inspection on January 13, 2026, confirmed that all six known radiation devices were powered off, shutters were closed, and access to the area was restricted. The order requires the company to keep the devices safe and secure from use or removal, with appropriate radiation warning signage posted. The Order will be closed when the radiation devices are brought back under regulatory control. Dart Canada Inc. have chosen to have the radiation devices removed by a CNSC licensed service provider to occur no later than January 28, 2026.
