The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) issued an order on May 30, 2024, to C. Villeneuve Construction Co. Ltd. The company holds a licence for the possession, transfer, use and storage of portable nuclear gauges and is based in Hearst, Ontario.
The order was issued during a field inspection at a construction site on the Trans-Canada Highway, east of the town limits of Kapuskasing, Ontario. The order prohibits a worker from using the portable gauges listed on the licence until the licensee can demonstrate, to the CNSC’s satisfaction, that this worker has received appropriate training.
