Order issued to AR Geotechnical Engineering Ltd.

The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) issued an order on August 12, 2025, to AR Geotechnical Engineering Ltd. The company holds a CNSC licence for the possession, transfer and storage of portable nuclear gauges and is based in Calgary, AB.
The order, which was issued during a reactive inspection, requires the licensee to immediately place all gauges into secure storage. This order will remain in effect until the licensee possesses a valid CNSC licence that permits the use of these gauges.
On September 11, 2025, the order was amended by the designated officer to include the following closure criterion: “OR when AR Geotechnical Engineering Ltd. has transferred all radiation devices in their possession to a licensee authorized by the CNSC to possess them.”
