Stephanie Eisan-Kouznetsova

Professional biography

Stephanie has worked with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) since 2006, when she joined through the CNSC’s Technical Co-op Program. As a senior regulatory program officer in the Darlington Regulatory Program Division, she supports regulatory oversight of the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station and helps coordinate licensing, compliance and technical review work for power reactor operations.

Expertise and education

Her academic background includes a bachelor of engineering (honours) in nuclear engineering from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, now Ontario Tech University. Her expertise includes power reactor regulation, periodic safety reviews, licensing and compliance, licence conditions handbooks, regulatory oversight and nuclear power plant refurbishment.

Roles and responsibilities

In her role, Stephanie leads and supports regulatory program work related to Darlington, including the refurbishment project and ongoing plant operations. She coordinates technical assessments, works with specialists across the CNSC, and supports Commission proceedings and regulatory decision making. Her work helps ensure that licensing and compliance activities are reviewed consistently and that regulatory requirements are clearly understood and applied.
