Convention on Nuclear Safety Reports

Canada was one of the first signatories of the Convention on Nuclear Safety (the Convention) which came into force on October 24, 1996.

As one of the promoters of the Convention and one of the staunchest supporters of its objectives, Canada has endeavoured to fulfil its obligations under the Convention as demonstrated in the Canadian Reports presented at the International Agency of Atomic Energy Review Meetings that are held in Vienna, Austria every three years.

The Convention on Nuclear Safety (CNS) reports demonstrate how Canada continues to meet its obligations under the terms of the Convention on Nuclear Safety by reporting on the systematic monitoring of safety-related programs and their implementation in Canada.

The reports are published no later than six months before the review meetings.
