Consultation with the public, licensees and interested organizations is an important part of developing regulatory documents.
Each regulatory document is made available for public comment in its draft form for a specified period of time. At the end of the first comment period, Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) staff review all public input. Public comments are posted for feedback on the CNSC Web site for a second round of consultation.
A Consultation Report is then prepared to summarize the feedback and made available to the Commission Tribunal when the draft regulatory document is presented for approval.
The CNSC welcomes public input on its draft regulatory documents.
