Draft Screening Report

Modifications to the Gentilly Radioactive Waste Management Facilities and Refurbishment of the Gentilly-2 Nuclear Power Station

The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) invites public comment on the Draft Screening Report concerning the Environmental Assessment of the proposed Modifications to the Gentilly Radioactive Waste Management Facilities and Refurbishment of the Gentilly-2 Nuclear Power Station. This environmental assessment is being conducted pursuant to the requirements of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act.

The Draft Screening Report is based on an Environmental Assessment Study Report prepared by Hydro-Québec Production in response to Environmental Assessment Guidelines approved and issued by the Commission on September 15, 2005.

Interested parties should address their written comments to CNSC environmental assessment project manager at the address indicated below. The public comment period ends June 30, 2006. CNSC staff will review comments and address all comments received before finalizing the Screening Report and forwarding it to the Commission for approval and decision under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act. All comments received regarding the Screening Report are considered public information.
