Administrative monetary penalty issued to 20/20 ND Technology Inc.

The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) has issued an administrative monetary penalty (AMP) to 20/20 ND Technology Inc. in the amount of $9,190. In December 2017, during industrial radiography activities, a sealed source failed to return to the shielded position. As a result, the licensee implemented their contingency plan; however, the preliminary report to the CNSC was received approximately 3 weeks following the event. This constituted a failure to comply with paragraph 29(1)(d) of the General Nuclear Safety and Control Regulations.

On June 1, 2018, the CNSC confirmed that the AMP issued to 20/20 ND Technology Inc. was paid. The CNSC now considers this AMP closed.
